Faculty Travel Fund
The purpose of this fund is to support CoS faculty to travel to national and international conferences to present their research and raise the visibility of CoS and Florida Atlantic.
Covered Expenses
Faculty may apply for up to $1,000 per year. Funds may be used to cover any allowable E&G travel expenses including airfare, ground transportation, conference registration fee, accommodation, and per diem.
Criteria for Funding
Must be full-time CoS faculty member and must be presenting your research (including research on science education) at a national or international conference. Local/regional conferences will not be covered. Depending on demand, priority may be given to those accepted for platform (rather than poster) presentations.
Deadlines and Evaluation Process
There will be two deadlines per year. Upcoming:
- October 1, 2024 is the deadline to apply for spring and summer 2025 conferences.
Applications will be evaluated by a rotating 3-member faculty committee, composed of active researchers across CoS disciplines.
To Apply
Faculty should submit as a single pdf:
- official conference announcement;
- title, abstract, and presentation type (i.e., poster, talk, invited plenary, etc.; include letter of invitation if applicable);
- receipt of abstract acceptance by conference organizers (if acceptance is pending at the time of application, indicate the date on which notice of acceptance is expected; funding will be contingent on the abstract being accepted);
- budget;
- complete CV.
